Job Description:

KierBAM is a joint venture partnership between Kier and BAM Nuttall, currently delivering an exciting redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site in Plymouth. We are seeking an Engineering Surveyor (Assurance) to join our collaborative team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assurance surveys for construction of reinforced concrete structures, including pre-pour and post-pour checks, and as-built surveys using laser scanning.
  • Check and maintain survey control networks while operating survey equipment to the highest precision within a civil environment.
  • Support engineers with setting-out activities and prepare survey reports, drawings, and data outputs for engineering and construction teams.
  • Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure alignment between construction programme and survey operations.
  • Manage quality-control procedures in accordance with QC1 requirements, maintaining traceability, tolerances, and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Hold a degree, diploma, or relevant qualification in civil engineering, surveying, or construction.
  • Have 3–5 years of experience in a similar surveying position on civil engineering projects.
  • Be proficient with surveying equipment including total stations, GPS/GNSS, laser scanners, and data-processing software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Leica Infinity, Cyclone, and 3DR.
  • Have a strong understanding of QC1 procedures and quality documentation in a civil context, with excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Hold a CSCS card, relevant site-safety qualifications, and be a member of CInstCES or be working toward full membership.

Security & Clearance

  • BPSS security clearance is required (processing may take up to eight weeks).
  • Additional Government Security Check (SC) clearance is required before employment.
  • Must hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country.
  • Must have resided in the UK for the past five years.
