Structural Engineer

Job Overview

A Structural Engineer is required in Leeds on a permanent basis, with a salary between £36,000 and £55,000. The central Leeds consultancy seeks to expand its Building Structures team.

The role involves working on commercial, retail, residential, and industrial projects across the UK.

Responsibilities

• Assess and inspect new and existing properties using steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.
• Prepare technical reports, including dilapidation and due diligence surveys.
• Undertake analysis and design with software packages such as CSCFastrak and TEDDS.
• Ensure quality and consistency of technical output (drawings, reports, etc.).
• Liaise with and lead other design team members to achieve coordinated design solutions that meet client objectives.
• Work on small to medium refurbishment and building extension projects.

Qualifications

• Good academic background with a Masters or degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
• Consultancy-based experience as a structural engineer on UK projects in a similar role.
• Experience with structural analysis, design, and analysis software relevant to building structures.
• Ability to work at graduate to senior level, including project engineer responsibilities.
