Senior Structural Engineer – Norwich
This role is based in our Norwich office on a full‑time basis. The Senior Structural Engineer will lead structural design projects from concept through to completion, oversee structural analysis and detailed design, manage budgets and schedules, and mentor junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural design projects and produce high‑quality calculations, reports, and drawings.
- Review, check, and support the work of engineers and technicians.
- Coordinate effectively with clients, architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Manage project budgets, resources, and programme requirements.
- Undertake site inspections and provide technical support during construction.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, regulations, and industry best practice.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Demonstrable experience delivering and leading structural engineering projects.
- Strong structural analysis and design capabilities with a sound understanding of relevant codes and standards.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Proficiency in structural design software such as SCIA, MasterSeries, TEDDS, CADS, or similar.
- Degree qualified in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or actively progressing towards chartership.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and managing multiple project deadlines.
Desirable
- Appreciation of the interface between structural and civil engineering disciplines.
- Knowledge of UK Building Regulations, CDM Regulations, the Building Safety Act, and sustainable design principles.
