Bench Hand Joiner / Manufacturing Operative role available

Hyde

£13.50 – £15.00 per hour (DOE)

Full-time – 40 hours per week

Monday to Friday 7.30am to 4.00pm

The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Bench hand joiner / Manufacturing Operative to join a growing production team in Hyde. This role involves the manufacture and assembly of high-quality products used within specialist environments.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in joinery, fabrication, or engineering looking to develop their skills within a supportive and stable business.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret technical and engineering drawings to measure, cut, and assemble components
• Manufacture and assemble units to precise specifications
• Operate workshop machinery and hand tools safely (e.g. saws, guillotines, drills)
• Carry out cutting, shaping, and finishing of materials
• Perform quality checks to ensure products meet required standards
• Maintain a clean and organised workspace
• Assist with lifting, moving, and loading materials as required
• Work both independently and as part of a team to meet production targets
• Follow all health and safety procedures

Requirements

• Previous experience in fabrication, joinery, carpentry, or manufacturing
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Experience using power tools and workshop machinery
• Good attention to detail
• Reliable and hardworking with a strong work ethic
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
• Able to supply own hand tools and battery tools

Desirable (Not Essential)

• NVQ Level 2 in Joinery, Engineering, Fabrication or similar
• Experience working with wood and/or metal
