Due to continued growth and expansion, we’re looking for passionate Assistant Managers to join the Great British Inns team across our pubs and restaurants in and around Milton Keynes.

Great British Inns is a privately owned collection of welcoming pubs and restaurants across Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire. From traditional community pubs to destination dining venues, we pride ourselves on serving fresh, delicious Great British classics, alongside our popular 7 day a week carveries, private dining, celebrations and events.

The Role

As Assistant Manager, you’ll work closely with the General Manager to support the day-to-day operation of the business. You’ll help lead the team, deliver exceptional customer service and ensure every shift runs smoothly while maintaining the high standards our guests expect.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the General Manager with the day‑to‑day running of the business.
  • Lead, motivate and develop the front‑of‑house team.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service at every opportunity.
  • Maintain exceptional standards throughout the venue.
  • Manage shifts and act as Manager on Duty when required.
  • Support recruitment, training and development of the team.
  • Assist with stock control, ordering and achieving GP targets.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, licensing and health & safety legislation.
  • Help drive sales and create memorable guest experiences.

About You

  • Previous supervisory or management experience within hospitality.
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • A positive, hands‑on approach with the ability to lead from the front.
  • Commercially aware with a desire to develop your management career.
  • Flexible to work evenings, weekends and busy trading periods.
