A welcoming and nurturing primary school in Middlesbrough is seeking a dedicated EYFS Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team from September 2026. The Head Teacher is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced EYFS Level 3 Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting young children during the crucial early stages of their education.
This EYFS Level 3 Teaching Assistant role will involve working closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging learning opportunities through play, exploration and structured activities. The successful EYFS Level 3 Teaching Assistant will help create a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment where children can develop socially, emotionally and academically.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting children within the EYFS classroom.
- Delivering learning activities alongside the class teacher.
- Encouraging communication, language and social development.
- Supporting children’s personal, social and emotional wellbeing.
- Assisting with observations and recording pupil progress.
- Helping prepare classroom resources and learning environments.
- Promoting positive behaviour and engagement.
- Supporting pupils with additional learning needs where required.
Ideal Candidate
- Hold a Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Early Years or Teaching Assistance.
- Have previous experience working within an EYFS or nursery setting.
- Have a strong understanding of the EYFS Framework.
- Be nurturing, enthusiastic and committed to supporting young learners.
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).
- Have a fully checkable work history.
