We are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join an expanding engineering team delivering innovative power and protection systems within highly regulated and technically challenging environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems
• Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using AutoCAD and/or Inventor
• Support system integration activities, ensuring compatibility across mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines
• Conduct design reviews, tolerance analysis, and material selection
• Ensure designs comply with customer specifications, industry standards, safety requirements, and regulatory obligations
• Support verification and validation activities, including testing, prototyping, and product development
• Collaborate effectively with project teams, suppliers, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
• Experience in mechanical design within engineering or manufacturing projects
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Inventor
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and engineering principles

Desirable Experience

• Experience working within defence, aerospace, nuclear, rail, or other regulated industries
• Familiarity with verification, validation, testing, and prototyping activities
• Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams

Security Requirements

Due to the nature of the projects, applicants must:

• Be eligible to obtain DBS and BPSS clearance
• Hold a UK passport or dual UK nationality
