Position Overview

As a Lead Systems Engineer – A&D, your mission is to apply Systems Engineering for semiconductor manufacturing equipment, spanning from concept to customer commissioning and field trials while ensuring on‑time delivery, within budget and to specification.

Responsibilities

  • Translate product vision into clear and concise requirements using Systems Engineering processes such as Use Cases, Context Diagrams and Architectures.
  • Use Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods to develop Functional, Logical and Behavioural architectures to understand the operations and flow of the system.
  • Work collaboratively with and effectively influence all engineering teams to clarify work packages, manage trade‑off studies and resolve engineering issues.
  • Lead and coach a growing core team of Systems Engineers at all levels to continue their development towards becoming Lead Solution Engineers themselves.
  • Contribute to the development of the Systems Engineering process and its integration into the wider company, educating other employees in Systems Engineering to resolve technical challenges.
  • Collaborate across multiple cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Systems Engineering degree (Bachelor’s – minimum essential; Master’s – desirable) or demonstrable equivalent.
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards (desirable); Associated Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP) qualified (desirable).
  • More than 5years of practical application of best‑practice Systems Engineering in a comparable engineering industry (essential).
  • Experience and understanding of working in a regulated, compliance‑driven industry such as semiconductor manufacturing equipment, including product safety and compliance to applicable standards (desirable).
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills at multiple organisational levels (essential).
  • Ability to take ownership and control of a situation and bring people along even though they may not be direct reports (essential).
  • High integrity and accountability with a results‑driven mindset, able to set the standard and hold people accountable to deliver (essential).
