Job Overview

Capital One UK is seeking a Social Media Lead (Senior Associate) to develop and execute the UK social media strategy and help grow the Capital One brand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the overall strategy for Capital One’s social media presence in the UK.
  • Define the role and content plan for each channel and maintain brand voice.
  • Collaborate with PR, paid media and performance marketing teams on integrated multi‑channel campaigns.
  • Champion the content creator strategy, selecting partners and ensuring compliant, on‑message content.
  • Work with international partner teams to meet brand governance standards.
  • Brief internal and external creative teams and oversee production of campaign materials.
  • Report on KPIs, including campaign measurement and brand metrics, on a regular cadence.
  • Build connections between Brand and wider teams to generate a consistent content rhythm.
  • Lead end‑to‑end projects, both long‑term and short‑term, and pursue new opportunities for impact.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing organic social media strategy, preferably in‑house in a financial services or regulated sector.
  • Strong creative and analytical skills, with ability to craft evidence‑based campaigns and analyse performance data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and ability to present social media value to stakeholders.
  • Relationship‑building skills and experience working with external agencies.
  • Knowledge of emerging social media trends and marketplace dynamics.
  • Strong organisational skills, managing multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Resilience and solution‑focused mindset to overcome setbacks.
  • Tenacity to grow and take on greater responsibilities.
  • Experience in regulated or financial services sector is preferred; CIPR/CIM qualification is an advantage.

Location & Working Pattern

Permanent position based in London or Nottingham. Hybrid: three days in‑office (Tuesday‑Thursday) and two days remote.
