About the Role
Working with the relevant lead engineer, you will be responsible for the development of new and maintenance of existing mobile recycling machinery within defined timescales.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineered solutions for the development of new products and modifications to existing products.
- Follow Group standards in QFD, FMEA, design‑for‑manufacture, prototype development and field testing.
- Use Group engineering standards and IT systems to ensure effective global management of released engineering data.
- Ensure current and new products meet standards and performance levels for safety, function and reliability.
- Reduce manufacturing cost by improved design and consultation with production, purchasing and suppliers.
- Investigate and address customer complaints in a timely manner.
- Stay knowledgeable of machine component advancements and competitor design trends; apply latest technology where appropriate.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent, ideally with design experience in mobile tracked equipment.
- Competent user of 3D Solid Modeling CAD, ideally Creo, and familiarity with PDM systems.
- Technical expertise in mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- Experience with mobile recycling machinery is advantageous.
- Good understanding of equipment applications and expected performance.
- Creativity and innovative thinking.
- Experience with Oracle TMS a plus.
- Good English communication skills, written and spoken; good presentation and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- “Can do” attitude and ability to interact with a multi‑functional team.
- Ability to work with others to meet deadlines.
- Ability to assess workload and commit to realistic timelines.
- Ability to select from multiple design alternatives when a clear best choice is not evident.
