Senior Data Analyst – Business Intelligence Team

The Senior Data Analyst role sits within the Business Intelligence Team. Reporting to the Principal Data Analyst, the post holder will help ensure that the team develops and maintains regular reporting of Trust‑wide and service‑specific information that allows the Trust and its services to monitor progress. Working primarily with tools such as SQL, Power BI and SSRS, the post holder will ensure that the work produced aligns with Trust‑wide frameworks and strategies so that it is relevant, consistent and timely. They will contribute to the development of these and other procedures, including proposing and implementing changes to policies and procedures related to their work area. They will build good working relationships with clinical services and other stakeholders and provide expert input to projects. They will ensure that high‑quality products are created to deadlines and to scope, escalating as appropriate where issues arise. The post holder will contribute to the completion of all regular reporting processes and to the development of automated processes to minimise manual work, and will be required to respond to ad‑hoc requests for information.

Responsibilities

  • Process and present information to managers and services in a format that is easily understood and relevant to the decision‑making process, analysing complex and sensitive information to interpret and present it appropriately.
  • Deploy data reports and dashboards for internal use within the organisation using SSMS and Power BI.
  • Plan, develop and coordinate the production of complex performance reports that meet the needs of directorates, clinical teams, commissioners and users, in accordance with the Trust’s planning schedule.
  • Help with the day‑to‑day coordination of the Data Analyst and/or Data Officer workload to ensure that the provision of information is completed in a timely manner.
  • Build good working relationships with clinical services and other stakeholders, providing expert input to projects.
  • Contribute to the development of procedures, proposing and implementing changes to policies and procedures related to the work area.
