Registered Manager
Children’s Residential Care | Dunscore, near Dumfries | Up to £52,000 + bonuses
A good children’s home does more than keep young people safe.
It gives them rhythm, relationships, boundaries, warmth and the chance to feel that the adults around them aren’t going anywhere.
That’s the kind of leadership this role needs.
You would be leading a well-established 6-bed children’s home near Dumfries, supporting young people with social, emotional and behavioural needs shaped by difficult early experiences.
This is a role for someone who understands the weight of children’s residential care, but really understands the emotional rewards that come with it.
The role
You would lead the home day to day, making sure young people receive safe, stable and individualised care.
You would support and develop the staff team, maintain strong safeguarding practice, oversee care planning, work with families and professionals, and help keep standards high across the service.
There is wider organisational support around the home, but this is still a role that needs presence, ownership and emotional intelligence.
The right person will be able to lead with care, hold boundaries, manage complexity and help the team stay consistent around young people who may not always make that easy.
Who this may suit
This could suit an experienced Registered Manager who wants to lead a settled children’s home with a clear purpose and strong wider backing.
The preference is that the successful person has RM experience but It could potentially suit an experienced Deputy Manager who is ready for registration and has the experience, confidence and judgement to step into full leadership.
At it’s core though, you’ll likely be someone who cares deeply about the standard of care young people receive, but also understand that good care needs structure, reflection, accountability and a team that feels properly led.
