Job Overview

Finance and Corporate Resources are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our IT Service Centre Team as a Service Centre Engineer.

Location: Council Headquarters, Almada Street, Hamilton

Hours: 21 hours per week, fixed term for up to 9 months

Work Pattern: Monday to Wednesday 8:45am to 4:45pm

Salary: £25,336 – £25,895 per year

Responsibilities

  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues
  • Provide technical support to end-users via phone, email, or in-person
  • Document and track issues using a ticketing system
  • Help with installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT Systems
  • Perform routine system checks and maintenance to ensure optimal performance
  • Support in monitoring network performance and security
  • Participate in on-site shadowing and training to enhance technical skillset
  • Assist in preparing and updating IT documentation
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing user inquiries promptly
  • Ensure user satisfaction by following up on resolved issues
  • Assist in analysing recurring faults and identifying trends to support proactive resolution and service improvement
  • Support work scheduling and coordination with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely delivery of installations and minimise disruption
