The Role
As part of the Estates Reactive Maintenance team, you will work autonomously to provide reactive and planned maintenance services for all University buildings. Ensure that all work is carried out efficiently, in compliance with university procedures and statutory legislation.
Working Pattern
Monday to Thursday: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm. Friday: 7:30 am – 3:30 pm. This position is on‑site only; hybrid working is not supported.
On‑Call Rota
The role includes participation in an on‑call rota. You will receive £175 for each 7‑day on‑call period, with additional hourly payments for call‑out attendance. The on‑call commitment is no more frequent than one week in every four.

Pay Progression
New appointments will routinely be made to the entry spine point (minimum) for the advertised grade, from where the individual will (in addition to receiving annual cost‑of‑living‑related increases) progress through the pay range to the maximum for the grade, within a reasonable timeframe. A higher starting salary or market supplement may be available for a truly exceptional candidate when circumstances fully justify a departure from our normal policy.
