Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Plumber role based in Paisley. The Plumber will install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems in both commercial and residential properties, including pipes, fixtures, drainage systems, and heating-related plumbing. Day-to-day duties include reading and interpreting drawings and specifications, diagnosing faults, carrying out routine and emergency repairs, and ensuring work complies with relevant codes and safety regulations. The role also involves coordinating with site managers, other trades, and suppliers, maintaining accurate records of work completed, and providing clear communication about timelines and requirements. The Plumber is expected to uphold high standards of workmanship, follow health and safety procedures, and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

  • Relevant plumbing qualifications or apprenticeship completion, with demonstrable experience in installing and maintaining plumbing systems in commercial and residential settings.
  • Strong technical skills in pipefitting, drainage, heating and water systems, and competent use of plumbing tools and equipment.
  • Solid understanding of building regulations, plumbing codes, and health and safety practices on construction sites.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications, and to troubleshoot and diagnose plumbing issues effectively.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work professionally with clients, supervisors, and other trades on-site.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with reliability in attending sites, meeting deadlines, and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Full, valid driving license and willingness to travel to various sites in and around Paisley as required.
  • Previous experience in the construction industry and membership of a relevant professional body are beneficial but not mandatory.
