Mechanical Fitter

About the Role

We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanical Fitter to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual to work on a variety of mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, maintain, and repair mechanical components and machinery
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance
  • Diagnose faults and perform repairs efficiently
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health & safety regulations
  • Collaborate with engineers and other team members on projects

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or similar role
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipmentRelevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent) preferred
  • Good attention to detail and ability to work independently

Desirable Skills

  • Welding or fabrication experience
  • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or plant environments
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
