Quantity Surveyor
Location: Huddersfield (Office Based with Site Visits)
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 DOE + Car Allowance + Pension + Holiday Entitlement
Lester Lloyd is recruiting on behalf of a growing and well-established construction company specialising in the delivery of high-quality new build care home projects across the UK.
Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in Huddersfield. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of projects from procurement through to final account, working on a portfolio of new build care developments.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of multiple projects, ensuring financial performance is maximised while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and site teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the commercial aspects of multiple new build care home projects.
- Producing and managing monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
- Preparing and submitting client valuations and applications for payment.
- Assessing, pricing, and negotiating variations.
- Procuring subcontractors and materials packages.
- Preparing subcontract documentation and managing subcontract accounts.
- Conducting regular site visits to monitor progress and identify commercial opportunities and risks.
- Managing project costs and ensuring budgets are maintained.
- Reviewing and approving subcontractor valuations and payments.
- Identifying, managing, and mitigating commercial risks.
- Preparing and agreeing final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
- Supporting the Commercial Manager and wider project teams with commercial reporting and forecasting.
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Essential Requirements
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
- Experience managing projects from procurement through to final account.
- Strong understanding of CVRs, valuations, variations, and commercial reporting.
- Experience procuring subcontractors and managing subcontract accounts.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documentation.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- Experience delivering new build projects.
- Experience working on care homes, healthcare, residential, or similar projects.
- Knowledge of JCT forms of contract.
- Relevant construction or quantity surveying qualification.
