Residential Children’s Support Worker

Location: Preston, North West

Salary: £15:00 per hour

Contract: Permanent

About the Role

We are looking for compassionate, resilient, and motivated Residential Children’s Support Workers to join our team supporting children and young people in a residential care setting.

You’ll play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and structured environment, helping young people build confidence, stability, and positive futures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day care and emotional support to children and young people
  • Promote independence, positive behaviour, and healthy routines
  • Build trusting, professional relationships with young people
  • Support with education, activities, appointments, and daily living
  • Implement care plans and risk assessments
  • Maintain accurate records and reports
  • Work as part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team

What We’re Looking For

  • A genuine passion for working with children and young people
  • Resilience, patience, and strong communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations
  • Experience in residential childcare is desirable but not essential
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it)
  • A full UK driving licence (preferred, if applicable)
