Main Responsibilities
- Undertake regular supervision, support, and unannounced visits to a variety of approved foster carers, including general carers and kinship foster carers.
- Conduct fostering assessments related to changes of approval, Special Guardianship Orders, long‑term fostering assessments, approved support carer assessments and foster carer annual reviews.
- Maintain excellent working relationships with children’s teams and other professionals to ensure good outcomes for children and young people in care.
Ideal Candidate
- Qualified social worker with a minimum of two years post‑qualification experience and an understanding of fostering.
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Hold a current UK driving licence and vehicle.
- Understand key legislation related to children’s welfare and safeguarding.
- Capable of providing high‑quality, timely assessment, planning, monitoring and review of individual cases.
Above all, you will bring a desire to work with children and families to give them the right support at the right time with the aim of keeping families together where it’s safe to do so.
