Role Description
This full-time, on-site Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist role is based at Aaron Manufacturing’s facility in Poole. The CNC Machinist will set up, program, and operate CNC machines to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications. Day-to-day tasks include selecting tools, adjusting machine settings, performing test runs, and monitoring operations to ensure components meet required tolerances. The role involves inspecting finished products, completing basic maintenance on machinery, and documenting production and quality information. The CNC Machinist will collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and quality staff to resolve issues, optimize machining processes, and maintain a safe, efficient work environment.
Qualifications
- Ability to operate CNC equipment and related tools, with strong skills in Machine Operation and Machinery handling.
- Proficiency in Machining and Milling, including reading technical drawings and working to tight tolerances.
- Experience with Quality Control practices, such as using measurement tools and following inspection procedures.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment, preferably in precision machining.
- Understanding of shop safety standards, housekeeping practices, and basic machine maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant vocational training, apprenticeship, or certification in CNC machining or mechanical engineering is beneficial.
- Willingness to work shifts or overtime as needed to meet production requirements.
