Job Description
Flying Start is the Welsh Government’s targeted Early Years programme for families with children under 4 years of age living in some of the most disadvantaged areas of Wales. The core elements of the programme include free quality part‑time childcare for 2‑3 year olds, an enhanced Health Visiting service, access to Parenting Support and early language development.
The Early Years Team is looking for experienced and enthusiastic Childcare Workers for the Early Years Flying Start childcare provisions at Gofal Plant yr Enfys Gwynllyw and Little Duckling’s Playgroup Garnteg.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Childcare Supervisor in providing a high‑quality childcare provision.
- Provide additional support to eligible two‑year‑olds living within Flying Start areas.
- Deliver timely targeted support, undertake support planning and implement effective child development strategies.
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant qualification in Early Years/Childcare such as NVQ/CCPLD Level 3 or equivalent.
- Experience working with children, particularly 2‑3 year olds with additional needs.
- Strong knowledge of child development and understanding of creating a high‑quality learning environment for 2‑3 year olds.
- Basic Welsh speaking ability is an advantage or willingness to participate in the Welsh Government CAMAU programme.
