Working Pattern: Evenings/Flexible Hours/Full Time/Nights/Weekends


Hours: 37 hours per week


DBS Check: Enhanced


Salary: £28,598 – £35,413 per annum (pay award pending)

Key Responsibilities



  • Take on the role of a corporate parent, providing love and direction to children and young people.

  • Build meaningful relationships with children and young people who have had complex early lives.

  • Take immediate action when the welfare or safety of a child or young person is at risk.

  • Ensure that the wishes, thoughts, and feelings of children and young people are advocated.

  • Deliver high‑quality support and guidance to promote the best outcomes for children in placement.

  • Support the Homes Manager to exceed expectations at Inspection and Regulation 44 visits, ensuring positive outcomes.

  • Be flexible and willing to participate in activities with children and young people and attend appointments.


Candidate Requirements



  • Professional qualification in QCF Level 3 Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards it within statutory timescales.

  • Ability to engage with children and teenagers who have complex emotional needs.

  • Desirable: 2 years’ experience in social care.

  • Ability to work required shift patterns including weekends, overnights, late shifts and bank holidays.
