The Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Dust & Fume Extraction Installation Engineer to install, modify, and maintain extraction and ventilation systems at customer sites throughout the UK.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering projects to the highest standards, working both independently and as part of a team. This is a hands‑on role involving site‑based installation work, occasional overnight stays, and direct interaction with customers.
Responsibilities
- Installation of dust, fume, mist, and ventilation extraction systems.
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and installation specifications.
- Installation of ductwork, fans, filters, extraction arms, and associated equipment.
- Mechanical fitting and assembly of extraction systems.
- Working safely and efficiently on customer sites while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
- Liaising with project managers, site managers, and customers.
- Conducting site surveys and assisting with project planning where required.
- Ensuring projects are completed on time and to specification.
- Maintaining company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Following all health and safety procedures and site‑specific requirements.
- Completing installation reports and relevant documentation.
- Proven experience installing dust, fume, ventilation, or industrial extraction systems.
- Strong mechanical installation and fitting skills.
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings.
- Experience working on construction, manufacturing, or industrial sites.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK and stay away from home when required.
- High standards of workmanship and attention to detail.
- Experience with LEV (Local Exhaust Ventilation) systems.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Experience operating MEWPs, scissor lifts, and access equipment.
- Basic electrical installation knowledge.
- Experience supervising installation teams.
- Previous experience conducting site surveys and project planning.
Qualifications Needed
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
- CSCS Card (preferred).
- BOHS P601 (preferred).
- IPAF Licence (preferred).
- PASMA Certificate (preferred).
- Health & Safety qualifications beneficial but not essential.
