Role Description
This is a full‑time, on‑site Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist role located in Chandler’s Ford. The CNC Machinist will set up, operate, and maintain CNC machinery to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include selecting tooling, programming or adjusting CNC controls, performing test runs, and inspecting finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards. The role involves monitoring machine performance, identifying and resolving production issues, and collaborating with engineering and quality teams to improve processes. The machinist will also maintain a safe, organized work area, follow all health and safety procedures, and support continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in machine operation and machinery handling, including CNC equipment setup and basic maintenance.
- Demonstrated experience in machining and milling for precision component manufacture, working to tight tolerances.
- Applied knowledge of quality control practices, including measurement, inspection, and documentation of finished parts.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, engineering specifications, and CNC programs.
- Previous experience in a precision engineering or manufacturing environment, ideally in CNC machining.
- Awareness of health and safety standards in a workshop environment and commitment to safe working practices.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant vocational training or apprenticeship in machining, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
