Overview
Responsible for the safe, effective, and efficient warehousing operations within the business, ensuring 24/7 coverage, legal compliance, audit readiness, and timely dispatch of customer orders. Lead and develop a warehouse strategy aligned with short, medium, and long‑term goals while driving operational performance and fostering strong internal and external relationships.
Responsibilities
- Full responsibility for day‑to‑day management of the warehouse teams.
- Full Warehouse H&S responsibility.
- Full Warehouse KPI responsibility.
- Full responsibility for issue resolution, implementing solutions, driving continuous improvement, enhancing warehouse processes, and effectively communicating changes to teams and the wider business.
- Key communicator to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Responsible for escalation on day‑to‑day issues with third‑party hauliers.
- Ensure inventory is taken to verify correct stock balances, damages, and expiries.
- Identify, develop, and mentor talent across the business to create a pipeline of successors.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role (Essential).
- Previous experience managing a warehouse team with more than 20 indirect employees (Essential).
- Logistics, distribution, and supply chain background (Essential).
- Experience working with third‑party hauliers (Essential).
- Strong IT systems knowledge, including Excel (Essential).
- IOSH or equivalent, experience managing budgets up to 200K+ per year (Advantageous).
- Previous work in a food manufacturing environment (Advantageous).
- Knowledge and experience with Sage 200, Warehouse Management systems, or similar (Advantageous).
- Familiarity with project management, continuous improvement, and lean techniques (Advantageous).
