Job Description

The Senior Footwear Technologist oversees the Technical Department responsible for the quality and fit of all MTO product, ensuring desired standards are adhered to across the supply base.

Role Specific

  • Responsible for the quality and fit of OFFICE Ladies MTO range.
  • Work closely with Buying and Design to develop fit‑for‑purpose footwear to maintain and further improve all aspects of product quality assurance and product development.
  • Manage Footwear Fit Sessions and Product Testing in line with the Critical Path.
  • Responsible for reviewing and setting standards for Product Specification.
  • Review and monitor the Supply Base to ensure that Brand needs are met.
  • Develop and maintain excellent Supplier relationships.
  • Minimise Returns by constantly reviewing, monitoring and strategizing against Customer Returns.
  • Support the QC Incoming Inspections team and returns processing at both Warehouses.
  • Provide support to Customer Service with product consultations in the event of any product claims.
  • Liaise with Stores to gain information about potential issues with product and help with training/education.
  • Monitor OFFICE Code of Conduct within the Supplier Manual, which should be regularly updated.
  • Be aware of and comply with Industry Footwear Legislation in the UK and other trading countries.
  • Perform any other duties that may be required.

  • Bring ideas to management on how ongoing improvements can be achieved.
  • Mentor the more junior members of the footwear teams.

Requirements

  • Established experience of working in a Fast Fashion retailer is key.
  • Extensive knowledge of footwear construction.
  • Ability to influence, negotiate and make commercial decisions under pressure.
  • Experience in managing and developing employees.
