Locum Consultant Clinical Oncologist (Breast, Urology & Renal SABR)
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Trust as a locum Consultant Clinical Oncologist covering Breast, Urology and Renal SABR cancers. There will also be a commitment to Barnet AOS service.
Main duties of the job
- To develop and support the breast and urology cancer service at Barnet health unit
- To develop and support the renal SABR service at Royal Free health unit
- To attend weekly tumour specific urology, renal and breast MDTs
- To support Barnet AO
- To take responsibility for the designated clinical workload including all relevant MDMs and out‑patient clinics
- To take part in radiotherapy clinical trials in breast and urology at Barnet health unit
- To provide dedicated time to deliver SABR for extra cranial oligometastatic disease at RFL Trust
- To participate in the radiotherapy (1 in 8) and acute oncology (1 in 18) on call rota
- To attend monthly consultant departmental meetings
- To provide postgraduate teaching for junior staff
- To provide clinical supervision for specialist registrars
- To participate in undergraduate medical student teaching
- To comply with all the clinical governance processes and procedures of the Trust
- To lead and participate in medical audit as per Royal College of Radiologist guidelines
- To maintain Continuing Professional Development accreditation as per Royal College of Physicians guidelines
- To participate in the Trust appraisal programme and GMC revalidation processes
Education & Professional Qualifications
- Possession of MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- Membership of the Royal College of Radiologists
- Accreditation by the RCR or be within 6 months of obtaining CCT (or equivalent) at time of interview
- Eligible for GMC registration and entry onto the GMC Specialist Register in the area of Clinical Oncology
Experience
- Experience and commitment to multi-disciplinary working
- Wide experience in oncology
- Experience of breast, urology Oncology
- Experience in SABR
- Clinical Trials experience
- Experience of acute oncology
- Proven clinical ability in Clinical Oncology
- Leadership skills and the ability to take forward service developments
- Proven ability and commitment to carry out high quality research in the field, leading to publication in peer‑reviewed journals
Knowledge
- Member of a medical defense union
- Knowledge and understanding of the principles of resource and budgetary management within the NHS

£113,565 to £150,569 a year Per annum plus London weighting Pro-rata
