About the role
CDM is recruiting Electrical Test Technicians for a client in Newcastle Upon Tyne. You will be responsible for the final testing of systems once they are built, including fibre optic, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic lines. Testing methods include continuity testing to ensure systems are fully operational and hydrostatic high‑pressure testing.
Training and Development
Up to two years of training will be provided covering all forms of testing.
Working Conditions
Work in a heavy engineering environment that is clean, modern, quiet and slow‑paced. You will receive considerable autonomy and operate within a small team without micro‑management.
Contract Details
This is a long‑term agency role expected to last at least four years of consistent work. A permanent role may be offered at a future date but this is not guaranteed.
Compensation
Basic salary £45,281 (inclusive of shift allowance) / £21.77 per hour.
Shift Information
- Day shift 6:45 – 18:45
- Night shift 18:45 – 6:45
The continental shift pattern does not involve working weekends, providing an excellent work/life balance.
Qualifications
Ideally you have five years or more of experience in a similar engineering or maintenance role.
