Proposition Manager – Programmes & Benefits

The role owns the commercial strategy, positioning and go‑to‑market execution of all benefit‑driven and retail‑led programme propositions, including Reward Gateway’s discounts programme, financial benefit offerings, merchant ecosystem, PSP (Public Sector Programme) and global reward schemes.

You will design compelling value propositions for our benefits ecosystem, ensuring our Select (reward), merchant and financial benefit programmes are clearly differentiated, competitive and commercially scalable. This role bridges Product, Marketing, Merchant Teams, Client Success and Sales to ensure that our benefit‑led propositions drive high adoption, strong utilisation and meaningful commercial impact for clients and their employees.

Responsibilities

  • Define the value of our benefits ecosystem: create commercial narratives that articulate the impact of discounts, benefits and reward programmes.
  • Shape market competitiveness: continuously evolve propositions based on customer insight, merchant performance and competitor behaviour.
  • Drive utilisation and engagement: ensure benefit propositions deliver measurable value to employees and organisations.
  • Enable Sales and Client Success: provide simple, compelling messaging, training and collateral to position benefit programmes confidently.
  • Ensure commercial governance: manage pricing, bundling and programme configuration with control and insight.
  • Own the commercial definition and value narrative for our programmes and benefits products, including our retail discounts programme and our PSP.
  • Shape programme positioning for different segments and verticals.
  • Own pricing, bundling and packaging strategies for these products.
  • Translate programme enhancements and merchant updates into clear GTM activity and build GTM materials, program brochures, talk tracks and value frameworks.
  • Partner with Marketing to create campaigns and seasonal promotions.
  • Ensure frontline teams are fully trained and ready for every launch cycle.
  • Analyse merchant performance, utilisation trends and programme ROI; use insights to refine proposition structure, messaging and campaign strategy.
  • Work with the global merchant team and PSP specialists to evolve programme depth.
  • Partner with CS and Sales to understand client and user needs.
  • Monitor competitor benefits programmes, pricing and customer incentives.
  • Conduct win/loss analysis for benefit‑led deals and PSP‑specific opportunities.
  • Build sales collateral, ROI tools, benefit explainer packs and vertical‑specific positioning.
  • Support Sales on strategic pitches for benefit‑led programmes.
  • Equip CS with adoption frameworks to increase end‑user utilisation.
  • Ensure all programmes meet commercial, operational and compliance standards.
  • Maintain consistent naming, positioning and documentation across materials.
  • Govern promotional activity to protect margin and brand alignment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in proposition management, product marketing, commercial strategy or category/benefit management.
  • Demonstrated experience in retail programmes, employee benefits, rewards or consumer value propositions.
  • Strong understanding of commercial levers in discount/benefit ecosystems.
  • Proven success influencing product development and shaping commercial offerings.
  • Experience working cross‑functionally across Merchant, Product, Marketing, Sales and CS.
  • Commercial acumen: understands margins, programme structures, benefits economics and promotional strategy.
  • Narrative & positioning: proven ability to craft compelling value stories for discount programmes and benefits.
  • GTM expertise: skilled in turning programme changes into clear, impactful GTM activity.
  • Analytical insight: comfortable analysing merchant performance, utilisation trends and customer data.
  • Cross‑functional influence: works well with merchant teams, global partners, product, finance and commercial leadership.
  • Execution excellence: structured, disciplined and able to produce high‑quality GTM assets quickly.

Benefits

  • A flexible holiday plan of up to 40 days per year.
  • £400 annual wellbeing allowance.
  • Private medical insurance.
  • Allowance for professional development books, e‑books and podcasts.
  • Contributory pension scheme.
