History Teacher

Teacher of History – Blackpool, Lancashire – Long-Term Maternity Cover

Vision for Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Blackpool, Lancashire to recruit a dedicated Teacher of History for a long-term maternity cover position starting September 2026 and continuing until May 2027. The school was graded ‘Good’ at its most recent Ofsted inspection.

Role

As a Teacher of History in Blackpool, you will:

• Deliver engaging History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
• Plan and assess learning in line with the national curriculum
• Inspire students to develop a passion for History
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Monitor progress and support students to achieve their potential
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and parents

Requirements

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Have experience teaching History in a secondary school setting
• Demonstrate strong classroom management skills
• Have excellent communication and organisational abilities
• Be committed to raising standards and pupil outcomes
• Be able to provide suitable references and complete an enhanced DBS check
