About you

  • Previous experience as a Bookkeeper, Legal Cashier or in a similar finance role
  • Experience working within a legal practice is desirable, with an understanding of client accounts and legal finance processes
  • Relevant accounting or bookkeeping qualification (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Professional, trustworthy and able to handle confidential financial information with discretion

What you’ll do

  • Process daily bank transactions and perform bank and client account reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate client and office ledgers in line with legal accounting procedures
  • Process receipts, payments and transfers, ensuring compliance with internal controls
  • Assist with legal billing, fee invoicing and disbursement processing
  • Process supplier invoices, creditor reconciliations and expense claims
  • Support month-end and year-end finance processes, including reconciliations and reporting
  • Assist with audit requirements and ensure compliance with regulatory and accounting standards
  • Support the wider finance team with day-to-day bookkeeping and financial administration
