About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) to join a major infrastructure project supporting one of the UK’s most significant low‑carbon energy developments. The Temporary Works Coordinator is responsible for the safe planning, coordination, approval, and management of all temporary works across the construction site, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, procedures, and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate all parties involved in the design, planning, and construction of temporary works.
- Liaise with clients and project stakeholders to determine approval requirements, certification, and any potential impacts on the public.
- Compile, maintain, and regularly review the Temporary Works Schedule (TWS).
- Ensure temporary works designs are commissioned, completed, checked, and approved within project timescales.
- Prepare and review temporary works design briefs to ensure they are complete and suitable before issue to the Temporary Works Designer (TWD).
- Coordinate with Temporary Works Designers, Project Managers, and construction teams throughout the design and delivery process.
- Manage the temporary works design change process and ensure all revisions are properly controlled and communicated.
- Ensure adequate time is allocated within the construction programme for design, checking, approval, installation, and removal of temporary works.
- Maintain the temporary works register, ensuring inspections, permits, handovers, and associated records are completed accurately and remain fully auditable.
- Monitor compliance with temporary works procedures and UK construction standards.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with temporary works activities.
- Promote the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of temporary works throughout the project lifecycle.
Candidate Requirements
- Engineering qualification (Degree, HNC, or equivalent) preferred.
- Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with designers, engineers, contractors, and site teams.
- Understanding of temporary works processes and UK construction standards.
- Ability to identify risks, solve problems, and maintain high standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
- Experience on large or complex infrastructure or civil engineering projects is advantageous.
- Previous Temporary Works Coordinator experience is beneficial but not essential, as support and development will be provided for the right candidate.
