Job Summary
SEND Teacher in Sutton, South London, starting Tuesday 1 September. Term‑time hours 8:30 am–3:30 pm.
Responsibilities
- Teach and manage a small Year‑7 class exclusively.
- Assist pupils with complex special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and non‑verbal communication needs.
- Tailor lessons to individual Education, Health and Care plans.
- Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment where each child feels valued.
- Work closely with other school staff to support pupil development.
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Experience working with SEND pupils in school, PRU or specialist provision.
- Excellent communication skills and a patient, compassionate approach to pupils.
Additional Requirements
- Provision of an up‑to‑date DBS check, or willingness to allow Axcis to process one on your behalf.
- Other mandatory compliance checks in line with the DfE guidelines.
- Post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 where relevant.
