JOB BAND: BCONTRACT TYPE: FTC until 31 Dec 2026 DEPARTMENT: Media Scheduling TVLOCATION: SalfordPROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £24,600 – £28,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLEReporting to a Media Scheduler, the Assistant Media Scheduler is responsible for scheduling all BBC promotional items on a given service in line with the marketing, editorial and scheduling timescales. Responsible for applying the principles of media planning, marketing and advertising, and using all available audience data to create the most audience focused promotions schedule. Responsible for ensuring schedules are editorially sound, meets all the requirements of transmission and are fit for broadcast.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
- Schedules and optimises BBC promotional media across all platforms to meet campaign and cross‑promotion targets.
- Monitors and tracks channel playout, flagging performance issues to Media Schedulers, Portfolio Leads and Campaign Planners.
- Identifies and supports cross‑promotion opportunities to drive audiences to other BBC services and events.
- Works with Media Schedulers to ensure junctions are editorially sound, consistent, timed correctly and compliant for transmission, including handover to Playout teams.
- Extracts and analyses media research to inform audience‑focused scheduling and support media planning and future audience forecasts.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Strong passion for and knowledge of television, radio and digital media, with an understanding of scheduling, creative media solutions and broadcast requirements.
- Solid understanding of media research, marketing and evolving audience measurement techniques within a broadcast environment.
- Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail, strong PC skills and experience using spreadsheets for analysis.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to work accurately to tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, with knowledge of editorial, transmission and Ofcom regulatory guidelines.
