Single Homeless Project has two exciting opportunities for a Night Support Assistant to join our team based in Camden, London.
Hours Per Week
- Week 1: 40 hrs
- Week 2: 30 hrs
Salary: Fixed at £28,860 per annum (pro rata).
About the Night Support Assistant Role
As a Night Support Assistant in our Camden Young People’s Service, you will be part of the steady, trusted presence that helps young people feel safe, seen and supported when they need it most.
Responsibilities
- Completing welfare checks
- Responding to incidents or emergencies
- Monitoring building safety
- Recording and handing over key information
- Supporting young people who may be distressed or struggling
- Ensuring the service runs smoothly until the day team arrives
Skills and Experience
- Experience supporting young people or young adults facing homelessness, risk, trauma or multiple disadvantage, ideally within accommodation or frontline support settings.
- Confidence working awake night shifts and helping to keep the service safe, calm and welcoming overnight.
- Ability to respond calmly to challenging behaviour, safeguarding concerns or incidents, adapting the approach to the needs of each young person.
- Comfortable keeping accurate records, using basic IT systems and working with numerical information as part of safe service delivery.
- A reliable, resilient and thoughtful approach, with flexibility to work a night rota that includes weekends and bank holidays.

- Salary increase after successfully completing six months’ probationary period.
- 37.5 hour working week including flexible working hours (core hours are 10am – 4pm) in non-accommodation services.
