Scope of Role
As a Principal Electrical Engineer you will shape the electrical aspects of projects from concept design through to commissioning, ensuring designs meet legislation, standards and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the design, planning and execution of electrical engineering on projects.
- Provide design support, ensuring all designs are fit for purpose and compliant with current legislation and standards.
- Work collaboratively with commercial, operational and construction teams to develop efficient, practical and safe solutions across design, construction and beyond.
- Engage positively with the client, managing relationships and adopting a one‑team approach.
- Manage interfaces and integration of process design with other disciplines, producing documentation.
- Act as technical checker on project documents and conduct technical reviews across teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes, including standard designs, sustainable solutions and digital tools.
- Undertake site reviews to ensure buildability and integration within existing systems.
- Support the mechanical engineering team, coaching and mentoring engineers and identifying the correct resources for projects.
Essential Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Chartership (CEng) with a relevant Engineering Institution.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Experience in delivering high‑quality outputs in accordance with design, quality and safety standards.
- Strong communication skills with team members and stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel to sites across the operational region.
- Experience in water or wastewater projects.
