Head of Product Development
Location: Chesterfield, Derbyshire (full-time on-site during onboarding, then hybrid with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office)
At Superior Wellness, we’re one of the world’s fastest-growing manufacturers of premium hot tubs, swim spas, saunas and wellness products. As we continue to expand globally, we’re looking for an experienced Head of Product Development to lead innovation and shape the future of our product portfolio.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the COO, you’ll lead our Product Development and Engineering function, taking ownership of the full product lifecycle—from concept and design through to engineering, compliance, manufacture and commercial launch.
Working closely with international manufacturing partners, you’ll ensure our products are innovative, commercially successful and fully compliant across global markets.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead Product Development, Engineering and Innovation across the business.
- Own the end-to-end New Product Development (NPD) process.
- Design market-leading consumer products using SolidWorks.
- Manage and develop a high-performing technical team.
- Drive product innovation, quality, value engineering and cost optimisation.
- Oversee global product compliance across UK, Europe and North America.
- Work closely with Operations, Sales, Marketing, Purchasing and Quality to deliver successful product launches.
- Build strong relationships with international manufacturing partners, including China.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Significant experience leading Product Development, Engineering or R&D within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong SolidWorks experience (essential).
- A proven track record of taking products from concept through to commercial launch.
- Experience designing consumer products with manufacturability and customer experience in mind.
- Strong knowledge of global product compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Experience managing and developing technical teams.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to balance innovation, quality, compliance and cost.
Experience within hot tubs, wellness products, consumer appliances or other engineered consumer products would be advantageous.

Please note: SolidWorks experience is essential. The successful candidate will be required to work full-time on-site during the initial onboarding period before moving to a hybrid arrangement.
