About The Role

Reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager – Technology, the Buyer – Compliance & Governance Lead will be responsible for reviewing, approving and reporting on operational buying activities, ensuring alignment with Tarmac Buying Policy. The role will consist of approximately 65‑70% compliance and governance, and 30‑35% tactical sourcing activities for local business spend opportunities.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manage transactional buying desk activities and support wider strategic category management.
  • Approve and review purchase requisitions.
  • Oversee supplier accreditation and ensure compliance with Safety, Health & Environment and Corporate & Social Responsibility standards.
  • Work with category managers and business units to establish and deliver procurement requirements.
  • Maintain purchase card data and reporting.
  • Ensure products and services are purchased cost‑ and time‑efficiently, delivering agile solutions and best practices.
  • Evaluate, retender, renegotiate or extend contracts and suppliers to facilitate tactical and strategic sourcing.
  • Provide additional value to Tarmac operational buying activities.
  • Monitor and challenge non‑compliant buying activities.

This position is a 12‑month fixed‑term contract.

What We Are Looking For

  • Degree level education in a business or technical discipline.
  • MCIPS qualification is desirable.
  • Experience in tactical/operational buying.
  • Experience in category management.
  • Experience across multiple industry sectors is a plus.
