Job Description:

Are you an experienced SEN Teacher looking for new opportunities in Birmingham? Winner Education are seeking a SEN Primary Teacher for a Special Needs school based in South Birmingham. This role will start from September on a long-term placement and will be full time. The successful applicant will carry out class teacher responsibilities, maintain general classroom support as well as 1:1 intervention support for SEN children. You will preferably hold QTS Status.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conduct class teacher responsibilities
  • Support primary aged pupils
  • Lead lesson planning and preparation based on individual learner requirements
  • Lead and work alongside TAs supporting group of learners
  • Provide personal care if and when required
  • Provide regular learner assessments and progress reports
  • Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and student welfare
  • Create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment

The successful SEN Teacher will have

  • QTS status
  • Previous PMLD experience
  • Previous experience working primary aged SEN children
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the National Curriculum, in particular the primary level
  • Strong resilience and patience
  • Previous experience working with children with Autism and challenging behaviours
  • Previous experience in lesson planning
