1:1 Non-Verbal Specialist Teaching Assistant – Join us Ready for September!

Location: Northampton & Surrounding Areas

Position: Full-Time (Part time also available)

Pay Rate: Competitive Pay

Not every child communicates with words—but every child deserves to be heard.

We’re looking for a caring, patient, and proactive Teaching Assistant to support a non-verbal child 1:1 in a primary school setting. Experience with SEND children or use of PECS, Makaton, AAC, or sign language would be highly beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Support one child throughout the school day
  • Use alternative communication tools to unlock learning
  • Build confidence, independence, and social skills
  • Work closely with teachers and specialists

Qualifications and Attributes

  • Experience working with SEND or non-verbal children
  • Calm, compassionate, can-do attitude
  • Experience with communication tools a bonus, not essential
