Not every child communicates with words—but every child deserves to be heard.
We’re looking for a caring, patient, and proactive Teaching Assistant to support a non-verbal child 1:1 in a primary school setting. Experience with SEND children or use of PECS, Makaton, AAC, or sign language would be highly beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Support one child throughout the school day
- Use alternative communication tools to unlock learning
- Build confidence, independence, and social skills
- Work closely with teachers and specialists
Qualifications and Attributes
- Experience working with SEND or non-verbal children
- Calm, compassionate, can-do attitude
- Experience with communication tools a bonus, not essential
