Role summary

The Academy Performance Analyst is responsible for delivering high‑quality performance analysis to support the development of Academy players and inform coaching practice. Working closely with coaching and multi‑disciplinary staff, the postholder contributes to the Academy’s holistic development programmes and ensures all analysis provision aligns with the Academy Performance Plan, EPPP, Youth Development Rules, and the Club’s safeguarding and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake performance analysis of Academy players as guided by coaching staff.
  • Support staff in identifying and preparing information, data and imaging for player meetings, individual development plans and multi‑disciplinary reviews.
  • Create and maintain best practice libraries for individuals, units and team footage.
  • Manage and organise analysis platforms and capture, analyse and share video & data for matchday and training.
  • Collaborate with the Lead PDP coach in developing and improving the analysis provided across the Academy.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Education to contribute to the delivery of the Sporting Excellence Programme (SEP) for football apprentices.
  • Ensure personal KPIs are met and undertake corrective action if not.
  • Participate in CPD organised by the Academy and engage in self‑learning and external CPD.
  • Maintain good working knowledge of the Youth Development Rules.
  • Attend all fixtures, training sessions, Academy meetings, workshops, presentations and other academy events as required.
  • Uphold safeguarding, equality and health & safety standards at all times.
  • Ensure facilities and property are kept in good order and properly maintained.
  • Abide by all Club policies and processes including safeguarding, equality and health & safety.
  • Maintain high standards of work and act professionally whilst representing the Club.

About The Candidate

  • Degree in Performance Analysis or a related field (or currently studying).
  • First‑hand experience using industry‑standard analysis products (e.g. Hudl, Veo).
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undertake).
  • Good organisational and time‑keeping skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous football experience and/or keen interest in football.
  • Football coaching qualifications (desirable).
