Volunteer Car Driver

Responsibilities

• Pick up patients and transport them to appointments and therapy groups, ensuring punctuality.
• Assist patients into and out of the volunteer’s car.
• Report any accidents or untoward incidents to the Voluntary Services Manager immediately.
• Attend support and supervision sessions (minimum one session every three months).
• Commit to regular volunteer hours and be available for training as required.
• Work within Oxleas policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring confidentiality at all times.
• Adhere to Health & Safety requirements and attend relevant statutory training.
• Act in line with the Equal Opportunities policy, promoting a positive image of mental ill health and respecting the dignity and rights of individuals.
• Respect Data Protection requirements.

Qualifications

• Live within a five‑mile radius of SE18.
• Commit to a minimum six‑month volunteer period.

Benefits

• Reimbursement for travel within the boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, and Greenwich (provide original receipts if using public transport).
• Claim for lunch or other subsistence costs (maximum £5 per day) if volunteering exceeds four hours a day.
