Role

As the appointed Employment Solicitor, you will manage a broad mix of contentious and non‑contentious employment matters on behalf of both employers and employees. You will advise on Employment Tribunal claims, redundancy and restructuring, employment contracts, policies and handbooks, settlement agreements, disciplinary and grievance matters. You will play a key role in the firm’s continued growth, take ownership of the department across the firm’s offices, and occasionally travel to other offices. In addition to fee‑earning you will undertake business development, networking and building lasting relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the employment department for the firm
  • Manage a varied caseload of both contentious and non‑contentious matters
  • Advise employers and employees on Tribunal claims, redundancy, restructuring, contracts, policies, handbooks, settlement agreements, disciplinary and grievance processes
  • Own the department and shape its direction and growth
  • Engage in business development, networking and relationship building

Candidate

You will have at least 8 years PQE and experience dealing with a broad spectrum of employment law, including acting for both employers and employees. You should possess the ability to handle complex matters and the desire to lead and build a successful employment department.
