Key Responsibilities
- Support the Deputy Head of Financial Institutions with business planning, budgeting, KPI tracking and departmental strategy.
- Assist in preparing management information (MI), business reports and presentations for senior management, Head Office and regulators.
- Coordinate business activities across Corporate Banking, Treasury and the Financial Institutions teams, ensuring actions and projects are delivered on time.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders including Finance, Operations, Client Onboarding, Compliance, Risk, Legal, Internal Audit and FinTech to support day-to-day business management.
- Monitor the Financial Institutions portfolio, identifying changes in counterparty credit quality and preparing reports to support business decisions.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of internal control frameworks, policies and operational procedures in line with regulatory requirements.
- Assist with business governance activities including audit follow-up, risk management actions, KYC/AML coordination and new product approval processes.
- Prepare market research, industry analysis and macroeconomic reports covering the UK financial market, providing insights to senior management, Head Office and regulators.
- Coordinate departmental events including seminars, networking events, client meetings and roadshows, managing logistics, budgets and external suppliers.
- Monitor departmental operating budgets, invoices, membership subscriptions and event expenditure to ensure effective cost management.
- Participate in business improvement initiatives and support ad hoc projects as required.
Requirements
- Degree educated.
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience within banking or financial services.
- Previous experience supporting Financial Institutions, Corporate Banking, Treasury or a Business Management / Business Analyst function would be highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial information and produce high-quality management reports.
- Good understanding of wholesale banking products and Financial Institutions business.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with experience working across different business functions.
- High level of attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluent English is essential. Mandarin language skills would be advantageous but are not essential.
