About the Work
Ipswich Borough Council are looking for a self‑motivated and highly customer‑focused individual to join our Processing Team within Parking Services. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a friendly, supportive and professional team delivering essential services across Ipswich.
Parking Services Responsibilities
- Managing parking provision across council car parks and on‑street
- Managing and delivering the residents’ parking scheme
- Enforcing parking restrictions across the town
- Recovery of parking fees, and related enforcement activity
The Processing Team plays a key role in ensuring that administration, appeals, and Parking Penalty Charge Notices (PCN’s) are handled efficiently, accurately, and in line with legislation.
What you’ll be doing
- Managing the second stage of the Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) process
- Reviewing appeals and preparing written responses
- Progressing PCN cases, in line with legislation
- Responding to enquiries from customers
- Advising customers on parking permits, and processing applications
- Administration related to clamping and removal of vehicles
- Managing the residents parking permit scheme
- Reconciling and reporting income
About you
Essential
- Experience in a customer‑focused environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong IT skills and ability to work across systems
Desirable
- Parking or customer service experience
You will be required to complete a City & Guilds Level 2 Award (Parking).
