Job Overview
To protect our customers’ property, people and/or assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the site’s published Assignment Instructions (AI’s) and any subsequent changes. Deliver results that meet and/or exceed the Key Performance Indicators / Service Level Agreement for the customer through full responsibility and accountability, providing a service that aids in the retention of the contract. Undertake additional training to ensure continuous self‑development.
Responsibilities
- Protect customer property, people and/or assets.
- Provide security services in accordance with the Assignment Instructions (AI’s).
- Deliver results that meet or exceed the Key Performance Indicators / Service Level Agreement.
- Ensure compliance with all policies, legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK Law and Guidance bodies.
- Complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the Assignment Instructions (AI’s).
- Review the Assignment Instructions, remain familiar with any changes and suggest amendments to improve service.
- Wear an authorised front‑line licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervision) at all times while carrying out duties.
- Hold a CCTV PSS SIA Licence as required by the customer.
- Renew your licence 16 weeks before expiry.
- Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.
- Follow instructions and procedures without unnecessarily challenging authority.
- Work systematically, methodically and orderly.
- Complete all required competency training and undertake additional training as directed.
- Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development.
- Look out for and immediately report any health & safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
- Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment in order to take appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
- Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.
- Maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
- Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.
- Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
- Ensure check calls are carried out at the allocated time as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions (AI’s).
- Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Willingness to cover a range of IKEA stores – both outside and inside London.
- Willingness to work day and night shifts.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in security.
- Front‑line licence in either Security Guarding or Door Supervision.
- Qualified with a CCTV PSS SIA Licence.
- SC clearance desirable.
