Mobile Plant Engineer

North West £19.50–£21 per hour 40‑hour week, overtime at 1.5×, fully equipped van with door‑to‑door plus personal use allowance, pension scheme, private healthcare, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, training and more.

Join a leading global Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of plant machinery as a Mobile Plant Engineer covering the northern region of the country. Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a wide range of plant machinery.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues.
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure equipment is operating efficiently and safely.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while working on site at client locations.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies at all times.
  • Collaborate with the technical support team to resolve complex issues.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a plant engineer, mobile engineer, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Relevant qualifications in engineering or plant maintenance (NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent).
  • Ability to work independently and manage own workload effectively.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong communication and customer‑service skills.

Day‑to‑Day

  • Travel to customer sites across the northern region to perform maintenance and repairs.
  • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve faults.
  • Liaise with customers to provide updates and ensure satisfaction with completed work.
  • Maintain and manage the company‑provided van, ensuring it is stocked with necessary tools and parts.
  • Attend manufacturer training sessions to stay updated on latest technologies and machinery.
