This is a significant opportunity for a Corporate Tax Director (Compliance-Focused) to join a key department and play a vital role in the firm’s continued success.
In this pivotal role, you will:
- Oversee and manage a substantial portfolio of corporate tax compliance engagements for a diverse range of clients.
- Ensure the accurate and timely preparation and submission of corporate tax returns, computations, and related filings, adhering to all statutory deadlines.
- Lead and review complex corporate tax compliance projects, identifying and resolving technical issues.
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients on compliance matters, providing clear explanations and building strong, trusted relationships.
- Liaise proactively with HMRC on behalf of clients, managing enquiries and resolving disputes effectively.
- Drive process improvements and efficiencies within the corporate tax compliance function, leveraging technology where appropriate.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a dedicated team of corporate tax professionals, from junior staff to managers, fostering a culture of precision and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with partners and other tax specialists to ensure a holistic approach to client service, referring advisory opportunities as they arise.
- Stay abreast of all relevant UK corporate tax legislation changes and their practical implications for compliance.
We are seeking a professional who possesses:
- CTA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification, with a strong focus on corporate tax.
- Extensive and demonstrable experience in corporate tax compliance, gained within a reputable accountancy firm (mid-tier or larger preferred).
- A deep and up-to-date technical understanding of UK corporate tax legislation and its practical application to compliance.
- Proven experience in managing a large and varied client portfolio, with exceptional organisational skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of developing and motivating staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of explaining complex tax matters clearly to clients and colleagues.
- A meticulous eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a desire to contribute to operational excellence.
