Overview
Aston Murray is recruiting a Group Financial Controller on behalf of a private equity–backed, rapidly growing, multi-site B2C services business based in Derby. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Group Financial Controller will play a critical role in scaling the finance function and supporting the business through an ambitious buy-and-build growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop the finance team
- Deliver timely, accurate consolidated monthly management accounts
- Produce and support board pack financial reporting and commentary
- Oversee cashflow, liquidity, and working capital management
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning
- Manage covenant reporting and lender relationships
- Drive improvements in financial systems, processes, and controls
- Strengthen the overall financial control environment
- Lead post-acquisition finance integration for new sites
- Manage relationships with external advisors (auditors, banks, tax advisors, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with all UK statutory and regulatory reporting requirements
Candidate Profile
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Proven experience leading and developing finance teams
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strategic mindset with the ability to operate at both detail and board level
- Experience in a private equity–backed environment is desirable but not essential

Package
