Family Support Worker / Pastoral Lead
Salary: Competitive (typically £23,000 – £30,000 FTE, depending on experience)

It is a welcoming, inclusive community dedicated to providing the best possible start for all our students. They are seeking a passionate, resilient Family Support Worker to join their dedicated pastoral team.
The Role
You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and external agencies to act as a primary point of contact for their most vulnerable families. Your goal is to break down barriers to learning by addressing issues such as poor attendance, parental mental health, housing, and challenging behaviour.
Key Responsibilities
- Casework Management: Carry out early-help assessments, devise tailored support plans, and hold regular meetings with parents and guardians.
- Attendance Improvement: Proactively engage with families to reduce persistent absenteeism and lateness.
- Safeguarding: Work alongside the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to identify, monitor, and report child welfare concerns.
- Multi‑Agency Collaboration: Liaise with local authorities, social care, health professionals, and local charities to secure resources for families.
The Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience in a social care, school, or community setting supporting children and families.
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Social Work, or a related discipline is highly desirable.
- Exceptional interpersonal and conflict‑resolution skills.
- A strong, practical understanding of safeguarding and child protection protocols.
